Indian Block Printing - Print and Stitch - Worksop Library

Sunday, July 6, 2025 Worksop Library Memorial Avenue Worksop S80 2BP

Looking for a hands-on, creative way to spend a Saturday morning? Join us at Worksop Library for a relaxed and welcoming workshop where you’ll learn the beautiful art of Indian block printing.

This traditional technique uses hand-carved wooden blocks to create striking patterns and designs on fabric — and it's surprisingly satisfying, even if you’re completely new to it.

During the session, you’ll have the chance to try your hand at printing using authentic blocks and colourful inks. Once your design is in place, you’ll be shown simple stitching techniques to enhance your work with a personal touch. Whether you’re into textiles, crafting, or just feel like trying something different, this is a great way to get creative and learn something new.

All materials are provided, and you’ll get to take your printed fabric home at the end of the session — a great keepsake or even a unique gift. The workshop is completely free to attend, but places are limited, so it’s best to book early to avoid missing out.

This session is part of the Adult Learning programme at Worksop Library and is open to anyone aged 19 or over. No previous experience is needed — just bring your curiosity and a willingness to have a go.
